Barry Ferguson on why he CAN'T see Celtic star Kyogo at Tottenham and Brendan Rodgers' budget

Barry Ferguson has explained why he CAN'T see Kyogo Furuhashi following Ange Postecoglou to Tottenham.

The former Celtic gaffer has made the move to the English Premier League with the North London club and has been linked with his former Hoops star man. He brought the Japan international to Parkhead from Vissel Kobe and he's been nothing short of sensational in his two seasons so far in Glasgow. He has netted 54 goals in just 83 appearances and chipped in with 10 assists in that period.

Last season alone he netted a whopping 34 goals as Postecoglou signed off from Glasgow with a domestic Treble. Brendan Rodgers is now back in the hot seat and is a huge fan of the hitman. He handed him the ultimate praise by comparing him to previous strikers he has worked with in the shape of Luis Suarez, Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge.

However, Rangers hero Ferguson can't see Kyogo playing for Tottenham due to the 'world class' attackers at their disposal in the shape of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. That's not to take away from the Celtic star who he has labelled as 'brilliant' during his time at the Scottish champions.

Speaking on Go Radio, Ferguson said: "I couldn't see Kyogo playing at Tottenham.

"They are world class, the Harry Kanes and Sons of this world. Don't get me wrong, he has been brilliant for Celtic, there's no doubt about it.

"His work-rate, attitude. It will be interesting to see who stays and who goes under Brendan Rodgers and what sort of budget he'll have.

"I don't imagine he would have come up to Scotland without a budget to operate on."
