Barry Ferguson has offered up a defence for Malik Tillman's headline-grabbing Rangers goal in the Scottish Cup.
With the fifth round tie at Ibrox stuck at 1-1 against Partick Thistle, the Bayern Munich loanee went down under a fiery Jags challenge. As the Championship side looked to return the ball to their hosts after the disruption, Tillman pressed the defence and scored. In a remarkable turn of events, Michael Beale ordered his Rangers team to let Ian McCall's - sacked by the Firhill side post-match - score. It finished 3-2 following an own goal that booked a place in the quarter-finals against Raith Rovers, but it's the second goals for both sides that have got people talking.
Record Sport columnist and former Light Blues captain Ferguson has weighed in on Go Radio, and agrees it was the right call. Allan McGregor was the only one in the Rangers camp who look opposed to the decision and it's got the goalkeeper's former teammate laughing, who said: "I believe it was the right thing to do.
"In defence of Tillman, he is down and unaware so he doesn't realise. It is a misunderstanding and then after that, the game was played in good spirits.
"I thought it was the right thing to do. I froze it a couple of times and Tillman was turned away from the situation.
"He has suffered a kick to the ankle and made a mistake, and the players let the Partick Thistle player score. Apart from Allan McGregor and as he (Scott Tiffoney) went into the box, I was thinking that Greegsy wasn't wanting him to score! But it was the right thing to do."
