Barrett Sallee of CBS Sports predicts Georgia’s 2022 record

Barrett Sallee of CBS Sports recently predicted win totals for every SEC football team for the upcoming 2022 season.

Georgia, which ran the table and went 12-0 during the 2021 regular season, lucked out with its 2022 slate. We recently ranked Georgia’s upcoming schedule as the easiest in all of the SEC, with Oregon (Atlanta), Auburn, Florida (Jacksonville) and Tennessee as its most difficult games.

Sallee looked at Caesars Sportsbook’s over/under win totals for every SEC team this fall. Georgia’s over/under was set at 11.5, and Sallee took the over.

“To the surprise of nobody, Georgia and Alabama have lofty expectations after the Bulldogs topped the Crimson Tide in January in the College Football Playoff National Championship,” Sallee wrote. “They are the only two teams in the SEC that are expected to top the double-digit win mark according to oddsmakers.”

Sallee expects the Bulldogs to go undefeated, meaning he’d be taking the over  on that bet.

“Generally speaking, it’s hard to go “over” when a team has to go undefeated for the bet to cash. The defending national champions have a great chance of making it happen, though. The opener vs. Oregon in Atlanta will be a tough test for the new-look Bulldogs defense, but the road slate isn’t too daunting and cross-division games vs. Auburn and Mississippi State aren’t exactly difficult. Quarterback Stetson Bennett IV will lead his team into Atlanta for the second straight season with a CFP berth within grasp.

Pick: Over 11.5 (+150)

Georgia should be double digits favorites in every game it plays this season.

Oregon is a solid season opener, but the Ducks have a lot of question marks to figure out. Georgia always beats Auburn, and Florida should not be too much to handle this year.

A few other record predictions Sallee made include:

  • Alabama: 12-0
  • Florida: 8-4
  • Tennessee: 8-4
  • Auburn: 7-5
