Baron of the Wasteland Leaderboard Event in BO7 & Warzone: All free rewards and challenges

Fallout-themed rewards continue to fall into Call of Duty with the Baron of the Wasteland Leaderboard Event in Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 1 Reloaded.

This limited-time event during the CoD-Fallout crossover is all about leaderboard progression. You’re going to be placed into a group of players and compete for the top spots to earn the best rewards, including animated camo and calling cards. But even if you’re not chasing first place, a dedicated set of event challenges offers guaranteed unlocks.

Here’s a full breakdown of the BO7 Baron of the Wasteland Event, including its activation dates, how the event works, and all the rewards you can earn along the way.

Based on the in-game Events tab in BO7 and Warzone, the Baron of the Wasteland Event starts on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 11am CT / 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm GMT, launching alongside the Quantum Exchange Event. The event is expected to conclude on Tuesday, Jan. 20, likely at the same reset time.

That said, you have five days to climb the leaderboard and earn every reward available. What’s great about this event is it features a similar progression mechanic to Quantum Exchange, so it’s especially rewarding for active grinders.

How the Baron of the Wasteland Leaderboard Event works

Like previous leaderboard events, Baron of the Wasteland drops you into a randomized 30-player pool, where the goal is to outgrind the competition and climb the rankings to snag the best rewards. Progression revolves around collecting Nuka-Cola Quantum Bottle Caps, mirroring the mechanics of the Quantum Exchange Event.

You can earn Bottle Caps by eliminating enemies across BO7 Multiplayer, Zombies, and Endgame (Co-Op Campaign), or by opening loot caches in Warzone. The more Bottle Caps you stack, the higher you place on the leaderboard, and the better the rewards you unlock.

Don’t worry if you’re not a hardcore grinder, as even casual players can still walk away with solid rewards by completing the event’s challenges.

These rewards are tied to your final position on the event leaderboard. Since all rewards are cumulative, finishing higher means you’ll also unlock everything from the lower tiers.

Challenge rewards

In addition to the leaderboard rewards, you can score these items for reaching specific milestones:

Reward Requirement
Double XP token (1 hr) 20 Nuka-Cola Quantum Bottle Caps
“Cappy” weapon charm 50 Nuka-Cola Quantum Bottle Caps
Double weapon XP token (1 hr) 100 Nuka-Cola Quantum Bottle Caps
“Waste Raider” Peackeeper Mk1 assault rifle blueprint 180 Nuka-Cola Quantum Bottle Caps

Similar to the Quantum Exchange Event, jumping into BO7 Zombies is a smart move to top the Baron of the Wasteland Leaderboard Event since you’ll be up against AI zombies that spawn consistently, making Bottle Cap farming straightforward. If Multiplayer is more your style, objective-focused modes like Hardpoint and Domination are ideal, as they keep fights frequent and concentrated.

For those without BO7 or simply prefer playing Warzone, Casual Battle Royale or Resurgence lobbies are your best bet. These modes minimize encounters with other real players, giving you plenty of room to open loot caches and rack up Bottle Caps fast.
