Chelsea suffered Women’s Champions League semi-final heartbreak despite a spirited second-leg draw against Barcelona at the Camp Nou. The Blues became the first team not to lose to Barca away from home in any competition for more than four years and some 80 matches as the result of Guro Reiten’s second-half effort, which came just four minutes after Caroline Graham Hansen had struck again with her second goal of the tie.
Barcelona - with Ballon d’Or holder Alexia Putellas back fit after injury - are through to their fourth Champions League final since 2019 and third in a row, hoping to earn back the trophy they claimed for the first time against Chelsea in 2021 after last year’s defeat by Lyon in Turin. They will face either Arsenal or Wolfsburg in Eindhoven on June 3, with the second last-four tie finely poised ahead of Monday’s decider after a 2-2 draw in Germany last weekend.
Chelsea can still claim a domestic double this season, well situated in a thrilling four-way WSL title race and through to the FA Cup final, where they will face Manchester United at Wembley next month. Follow Barcelona vs Chelsea reaction live below!
