Barcelona have reportedly seen a fresh offer for Leeds United winger Raphinha turned down. That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that the Spanish side put forward a new proposal last night, that did not meet Leeds’ asking price.
Chelsea have already agreed a deal in the region of £60 million with Leeds for the Brazilian, however Raphinha’s first choice destination has always remained Barcelona. His agent Deco has been pictured in the offices at the Camp Nou in each of the last two days, as he looks to push his client towards a move to the Spanish side.
Barcelona’s financial issues has proved to be a major stumbling block so far this summer, in a deal which looked extremely likely following the conclusion of the Premier League season. However, Barca have today announced major investment from American company Sixth Sense, which will see them secure a cash injection of €267 million for the current season.

That could provide them with a huge boost in their pursuit of Raphinha and several of their other transfer targets, though they are yet to present an acceptable offer to Leeds. In fact, Leeds are holding extremely firm in their valuation of the player and intend to ‘respect’ their current agreement with Chelsea.
Raphinha, however, is thought to be prepared to be patient and hold out for Barcelona to agree a deal with the Whites, which could see the saga drag on for a little while longer yet. He could become Leeds’ second major departure of the summer, with Kalvin Phillips pencilled in for a medical at Manchester City on Friday.
