Some Barcelona supporters believe that midfielder Frenkie de Jong has hinted he's staying at the Camp Nou beyond this summer.
The central midfielder, who joined Barcelona from Ajax in 2019, is high up on Manchester United's wish list as manager Erik ten Hag aims to implement several changes to his squad this summer. United are understood to be in dialogue with the Spanish giants for De Jong's signature, but both parties are currently far apart on what they believe De Jong is worth.
The Manchester Evening News understands that United are continuing to monitor other targets in the event of them being unable to lure the Dutchman to Old Trafford. Barcelona paid £65million for him three years ago and are likely to want to make a profit on any potential sale.

Towards the end of last week it was reported that De Jong had warmed to the idea of moving to United, despite previous reports suggesting that he has reservations about being reunited with Ten Hag because of the Reds' lack of Champions League football next season. United finished sixth in the Premier League this term, meaning they will compete in the Europa League in 2022/23.
But United's supporters are remaining upbeat about their chances of watching De Jong in their team next term, largely because of his relationship with Ten Hag. However, a number of Barcelona fans now believe they will be continuing to watch him next season.
That's after the midfielder was quizzed on ongoing speculation concerning the prospect of Robert Lewandowski joining Barcelona this summer after the Netherlands' 2-2 draw with Poland on Saturday evening. After being spotted with the Poland ace in the tunnel after the match, De Jong was asked if he would like to be joined by him this summer.
The Dutchman said: "He is one of the best players in the world. It's up to him. I would like to have him in my team."
That comment sparked a reaction among the Barcelona fan base, with several of them viewing it as De Jong confirming he wants to be joined by Lewandowski at the Camp Nou this summer, opposed to leaving the club and joining United.
