Banned driver admits inflicting GBH with intent

A banned driver has admitted injuring a man following an incident involving a car in Fishponds. Ryan Basseng appeared at Bristol Crown Court via video link from HMP Bristol today.

The 26-year-old, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm to Richard Crook on April 4. He also admitted driving a Suzuki Swift dangerously between Forest Road and Tredegar Road and driving while disqualified.

Judge William Hart was told Basseng awaits an appointment to be seen by a mental health nurse. The judge adjourned sentence until June 29.
