The first-ever February bank holiday Monday is here, which means a number of changes will be in effect in relation to the standard opening hours across most businesses.
If you have any plans to pop to the shop, whether it be for a quick hangover cure or groceries for a family dinner, you’ll need to check if there are changes to your local's hours.
For many supermarkets, the changes depend on the location of the shop - some open later and close earlier in the day.
Some stores will operate Sunday hours on the bank holiday Monday while others will shut their doors entirely.
So here are the opening times for Irish supermarkets on the February bank holiday Monday:
Tesco
Most Tesco stores across Ireland will be open at 9:00 am this Bank Holiday Monday and will close at 8:00 pm.
Check what times your local Tesco will open using their store locator here.
Aldi
Aldi stores will be operating Sunday hours from 9 am - 9 pm on Monday.
While this can vary from store to store, customers can check Aldi's store finder for the most up-to-date info on their local store.
Lidl
Most Lidl stores operate with opening hours of 9 am - 9 pm on Monday, but you can always check your local store with the Lidl locater right here.
Dunnes Stores
Dunnes is a difficult one, as different owners of each branch decide the hours on bank holidays, so for this one, your best bet is to check out your own shop hours right here.
Supervalu
Similarly, all Supervalu stores operate under their own management and therefore will have different opening hours countrywide this Bank Holiday Monday.
You can check your local opening hours by clicking here.
