Bristol and South Gloucestershire councils have confirmed changes to bin collections next week due to the Queen's funeral.
With a bank holiday declared on Monday, September 19, both local authorities have decided to postpone refuse and recycling collections and close recycling centres on the day. Residents are being asked to not put bins or recycling containers out if your collection is due on this day.
In Bristol, anyone due to have their black bin and garden waste collected on Monday will now have it collected on Saturday, September 24.

Recycling will be collected the following Monday, September 26, and clinical waste collections will continue as usual. Anyone with a bulky waste or recycling centre booking will be contacted directly to re-arrange the date.
South Gloucestershire Council, however, has said it will not not run catch up collections, and instead households will have to wait for their next official collection day. This is Monday, September 26 for recycling and Monday, October 3 for black and green bins.
The local authority said the decision was made in order to minimise further disruption. But it has said that extra recycling would be collected the following week and up to two extra black bin bags on the next black bin collection day on October 3..
For South Gloucestershire residents who are due to have their green bin collected on Monday (September 19) their garden waste subscription will automatically be extended by two weeks.
