* Australia paceman Mitchell Starc took two wickets in successive balls, having opener Shadman Islam caught for one before bowling Mominul Haque for a duck when the number three failed to play a shot.
* Opener Tanzid Hasan was caught for nine by Starc at deep fine leg after a miscued pull shot off the bowling of captain and fast bowler Pat Cummins.
* Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto was 23 not out at the break, with number five batter Mushfiqur Rahim on four at Great Barrier Reef Arena.
* Australia were bowled out before lunch for 210 after resuming on 165 for eight in the morning. That gave the hosts a 146-run lead after Bangladesh were skittled for 64 on day one.
