Vote counting is under way in Bangkok’s 2026 gubernatorial election on Sunday, with early results putting Chadchart Sittipunt, Mallika Boonmeetrakul Mahasuk and Chaiwat Sathawornwichit in the lead, as residents await a clear winner.
Officials began tallying ballots shortly after polls closed, with counting centres across the capital reporting steady progress. The Election Commission (EC) expects the process to conclude around 10pm, barring any last-minute surprises or the occasional calculator mishap.
