Ban AI ‘nudification’ apps enabling sexual abuse, Children’s Commissioner says

The Children’s Commissioner Dame Rachel de Souza is warning of the dangers of so-called nudification apps (Peter Byrne/PA) - (PA Wire)

Generative AI apps which can be used to create sexually explicit images are being used to generate images of children and should be banned, the Children’s Commissioner has said.

Dame Rachel de Souza has called on the Government to introduce a total ban on apps which allow for ‘nudification’ – where photos of real people are edited by AI to make them appear naked – or can be used to create sexually explicit deepfake images of children.
