Baltimore City Fire Chief James Wallace recently addressed the media regarding the current situation with a cargo ship that has been causing concern due to its unstable bridge structure and containers at the bow. Chief Wallace emphasized the dangerous and challenging conditions that exist, making it difficult, if not impossible, to place personnel on the bow of the vessel at this time.
Of particular concern are the hazardous materials on board the ship, with the National Transportation Safety Board reporting that 56 containers are carrying such materials. Chief Wallace highlighted the need for caution and vigilance in dealing with these potentially dangerous substances.
