The Ballyfermot Cherry Orchard Arts Festival returns on Friday, June 24 and will run all the way until Sunday, July 10.
Having been held online for the past two years, 2022 sees the festival return as a fully in-person celebration featuring over 40 activities and events over the two weeks from family fun days, music performances, art attack, circus activities, open mic night, film screenings, opera in the park and lots more.
The local festival is put together by Dublin City Council as well as local organisations such as Ballyfermot Community Civic Centre, Orchard Centre, Cherry Orchard Running Club, Cherry Orchard Integrated Youth Project, Ballyfermot Heritage Group and Ballyfermot Library among many others.
The two weeks promises a slew of experiences for all ages including art, culture and fun-filled activities that demonstrate the best of what the area has to offer.
Ballyfermot Cherry Orchard Arts Festival honours singer, song writer, author and Ballyfermot man Declan O’Rourke with title of Grand Marshall in 2022.
The role recognises Declan's contribution to music over a long number of years during which he has represented "all that is good about Ballyfermot".
Some activities taking place as part of the festival may incur some charges or pre-booking.
A full programme of events is yet to be shared but will be announced on the festival's Facebook page.
