A balloon and flowers were left for a "superhero" boy who was killed in a crash.
Harry Kinney-Ryan was hit by a silver Vauxhall Astra estate on East Lancashire Road, close to the Stonedale Retail Park, at 7.25pm on Wednesday, December 7. He was taken to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in a critical condition, where he died of his injuries on Friday, December 9, a month before his 14th birthday.
A Merseyside Police spokesman confirmed to The ECHO a 34-year-old man, who was arrested following the crash, remains on bail pending further enquiries.

In a Facebook post, his heartbroken mum Liz Ryan said: "As you all know my Harry has passed away. I didn't know I could feel this many emotions, I've never felt so broken but proud of my baby boy. We did choose for Harry to be an organ donor so as it stands my baby is a hero. So as he grew up wishing to be a superhero my boy got exactly what he wanted."
His sister Molly Ryan said: "I’m so proud and broken at the same time. My Harry I’m so so proud of you."
Now, a number of bunches of flowers and a blue balloon with the number 13 on it have been left at the scene of the crash. A message on one bunch of flowers read "RIP Harry, gone far too soon. love from Michael, Kimberley and baby Teddy."
A police sign was also attached to a lamppost on the road asking for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
Detective sergeant Andy Roper, from Merseyside Police's matrix serious collision investigation unit, said: "Harry’s family are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers as our enquiries continue and our thoughts are with them at this sad time.
"If you were travelling on the East Lancashire Road around the time of the incident and have any dashcam footage that could help us with our investigation, or you have any CCTV or information please come forward."
