Balikwisha 'set' to end Celtic spell as club close to securing loan with buy option

Michel-Ange Balikwisha could be set to end his Celtic nightmare and head back to Belgium.

The winger's £5.5million move to Parkhead from Royal Antwerp has not worked out and he has not featured for them this season, after making just 14 appearances last season.

Having proven himself in the Belgian top flight before, he is on the wanted list of at least one club there.

Belgian outlet Nieuwsblad reports Gent are looking to sign the DR Congo international on a loan deal with an option to buy.

The 25-year-old is viewed as the gamechanger in attack Rik de Mil has been looking for his side.

Gent beat Hibs last night to qualify for the Conference League so will see their coffers swell.

Balikwisha is still highly thought of in Belgium after coming through the ranks at Anderlecht and impressing at Antwerp.
