The trades have been firing on all cylinders this free agency cycle in the NFL, but sometimes no communication is louder than rumors. Such is the case for current Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield, who took to Twitter with a lengthy update after the Browns were rumored to be looking at upgrading the position.
Mayfield has been the quarterback for the Browns for four seasons, amassing an overall regular season record of 29-30. The 2020 season was the highlight so far as Mayfield and the Browns went 11-5 in the regular season before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
The Browns management met with Deshaun Watson on Tuesday as the market for the Texans QB has ramped up after a Texas grand jury decided there wasn’t enough evidence to charge Watson with the multiple accusations of sexual misconduct levied against him.
With that uncertainty hanging over Cleveland and his role with the team, Mayfield shared his thoughts.
