The season of soggy bottoms, broken biscuits and Paul Hollywood handshakes is almost here. The Great British Bake Off 2022 is just around the corner with Channel 4 already teasing the first trailer of the new series.
The blink-and-you-miss-it teaser first aired during the evening schedule on Tuesday, August 23. The 10-second clip showed the famous tent in the distance surrounded by stunning countryside while the iconic Bake Off music played in the background.
As a squirrel scampered away the words "coming soon" appeared over a blue and white gingham tablecloth. While an official start date hasn't been announced the trailer, along with previous series start dates, suggests that viewers can expect GBBO to return in mid-September.

Last year the series kicked off Tuesday, September 21. In 2020, the show launched on September 22, so if the new series follows the same pattern it's likely to be returning to Channel 4 very soon.
In 2021, the series was won by Giuseppe Dell'Anno. He beat Crystelle Pereira and Will 'Chigs' Chirag in the final to be crowned the winner.
And while we don't have the official start date, or know this year's line-up, it has been confirmed that Paul Hollywood an Prue Leith will be returning to judge Signature, Technical and Showstopper challenges, while Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas are set to host.
