New England Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe performed well on Sunday in the team’s win against the Cleveland Browns, and he is getting recognition from national commentators as a result.
Zappe went 24-of-34 on the afternoon, throwing for 309 yards and two touchdowns. He has 596 yards, four touchdowns and an interception on the season. His stellar play on Sunday was part of the reason why the Patriots defeated the Browns by a 38-15 margin. The quarterback was also efficient, having a 70.6% completion percentage, as well as averaging 9.1 yards per pass.
Michael Irvin appeared on ESPN’s “First Take” on Tuesday afternoon. He singled out Zappe as his top playmaker for Week 6. Not only did he give Zappe the honor, but he did so emphatically.

The Patriots have found a gem in the fourth-round pick out of Western Kentucky. Perhaps more notably, he has energized the Patriots quarterback room, and put the team back in playoff contention.
