'Bag of cash' left in Glasgow McDonald's as police launch appeal to trace owner

Glasgow police are seeking the assistance of the public after a quantity of cash was found in a city centre McDonald's.

An unknown quantity of cash and greetings cards were found in the McDonald's restaurant on Trongate on Sunday.

The money and cards were handed into the police and it’s believed that whoever the items belonged to was in the restaurant in the early hours of Sunday morning - as the items were found around 3am.

Unfortunately, police say there is not enough information to allow officers to identify the owner and return the items and officers are appealing to anyone who can assist them.

If you have lost money and greetings cards and think what was handed in is yours, please contact officers at City Centre Police Station, via 101, quoting incident number 4179 of 8 May 2022.

Officers advise that anyone attempting to collect the cards and money will have to provide suitable identification and be able to verify what is written on the cards.
