Baftas red carpet prep as celebrities share glam tricks - from extreme face masks to napping

The 2022 BAFTA awards kick off this evening and a number of TV's hottest stars have already started their glamorous preparations.

From mid-morning naps and facials, to night-before moisturising masks, nail appointments and glam squads, it is all go for the celebrities who will attend the much-anticipated night.

This year's show has many talented actors and actresses hoping to bag an award for their work, as well as some popular TV hosts and reality stars too. Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson and radio star Vicki Hope will be offering a sneak peek into the action from 2pm on Facebook and YouTube, before Richard Ayoade hosts the main show on BBC One at 6pm.

Hope started her prep around 7am this morning; she shared a photograph on her Instagram story with freshly washed hair in a towel, and wearing a gold star moisturising face mask. She then met up with her glam squad - hairdresser, makeup artist, and stylist around 9am to start getting ready.

The presenter was seen with gold eyeshadow and her hair tied up in a neat bun. Meanwhile, her fellow presenter Sam Thompson was seen travelling in a car with a white shirt hung up in the back seat.

He was wearing a comfy-looking hoodie and dark green crocs, before swiftly changing into a tuxedo and sunglasses. The star was spotted on the red carpet around 1pm saying hello to keen fans lined up five hours before the event commences.

Stacey Solomon is also up for an award tonight. The mum-of-four and fiancé to Joe Swash gushed how she is celebrating the proudest moment of her life.

She will be heading to the Royal Albert Hall in London on Sunday evening for the glittering event. Her BBC show, Sort Your Life Out, is nominated in the Features category.

The mum-of-four started her preparations for the star-studded event on Saturday, taking to her Instagram stories as she headed for a manicure. Clutching a Greggs snack, she wrote that she had "abandoned her pickles" to get her nails done.

And Emmerdale star Paige Sandhu, who plays Mina, was preparing for the BAFTAs last night. The star will head to the event alongside her soap co-stars as the show is up for an award for Best Soap and Continuing Drama.

Paige went to a facial specialist on Saturday evening and got a mud mask poured on her face. She said: "This mask was incredible. And the whole team were so knowledgeable and helpful with my skin concerns."

And actress best known for her roles in Gentlemen Jack and Vigil, Suranne Jones was spotted arriving at a hotel and jumping on a plush white bed for a mid-morning nap before the biggest TV night of the year.

While some stars like Holly Willoughby, Suranne Jones, and Ant and Dec are regulars at the BAFTA awards, some stars are nominated for the very first time. It's A Sin stars Olly Alexander and Callum Scott Howells are among the newbies to have been nominated.

Lead actresses including Kate Winslet and Vigil star Suranne Jones are up for awards. Beloved drama on ITV, Unforgotten is up for a gong, as well as I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here, Strictly Come Dancing, Stephen Graham for his part in Help.
