The 76th British Academy Film Awards are just a few weeks away, with film fanatics counting down the days until they get to see their favourite actors go head-to-head to win an award.
This year’s ceremony has a special format change, with the winners for the final four categories - best actor, best actress, best film, and best director - set to be announced live on air.
In previous years, the Baftas were always prerecorded on the same night and broadcast with a delay.
When are the 2023 Baftas?
This year’s British Academy Film Awards will be held on Sunday, February 19.
For the past six years, the coveted event had been held at the Royal Albert Hall. But this year, the star-studded affair is moving to the Southbank Centre’s Festival Hall.
The organisers have shared that they are hoping their new venue will allow them to be more ambitious and accessible.
Who is hosting this year’s ceremony?
The 2023 hosts have been revealed as the Oscar- and Bafta-nominated Richard E Grant and broadcaster Alison Hammond.
The actor went on Twitter to share his excitement, saying: “I’ve watched the Baftas every year. Been lucky enough to be invited a few times. Got nominated, I think, three years ago.
“But never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be asked to host the ceremony. Incredible privilege... Thrill... Being a star-struck Swazi boy, I can’t wait to meet my heroes and heroines.”
Meanwhile, the red-carpet show will be hosted by Vick Hope and film critic Ali Plumb.
