Rebel Wilson has sent a very clear message to Vladimir Putin, as she hosted the 2022 BAFTAs this evening.
At the star-studded awards ceremony in London, the Aussie actress was full of jokes and poked fun at herself in her hilarious opening monologue.
After joking about the real reasons behind her 5.5 stone weight-loss, and confessing to a crush on The Batman star Robert Pattinson, the Bridesmaids star turned to more serious matters later on in the evening.
Rebel had a very visual approach with her message to the Russian leader Vladimir Putin at the swanky showbiz bash at The Royal Albert Hall.
As she introduced Emilia Jones' musical number, she explained to the attendees there would be two sign language interpreters on stage.
"And this is the gesture for Putin," she added, flipping her middle finger as she spoke.
The 2022 BAFTA awards are sadly taking place as the heartbreaking and senseless attacks continue in Ukraine, following Russia beginning their invasion of their neighbouring country on 24 February 2022.
The action of Russian forces has seen over 1.5million Ukrainians fleeing their home country, since President Vladimir Putin began ordering a string of terrifying attacks.
"More than half of all refugees who have left Ukraine are in Poland. So, if there are five million, just imagine that we get 2.5m," Poland's president predicted when talking about the humanitarian crisis to BBC ’s Sunday Morning show.
The thoughtful opening statement comes after celebrity guests at the 2022 BAFTA awards were told to keep the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine in mind when choosing their attire for the evening.
Bosses were keen to reflect the national mood amid a somber backdrop - not wanting any controversial fashion choices as they paid tribute to those struggling against President Putin's illegal war actions.
Lady Gaga - who is nominated for the Best Actress for her role in House of Gucci - clearly followed the alleged advice, opting to wear a tasteful black ensemble to attend the star-studded event.
The singer and actress looked breathtaking in a full-length black gown - complete with a plunging neckline and an eye-catching small feather handbag as one of her accessories.
Millie Bobby Brown was another actress who opted to wear black for the ceremony the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The Stranger Things actress, 18, wore a unique black floor-length gown - with lace features - and matching over-the-elbow black satin gloves to complete her chic look on Sunday afternoon.
Other stars to don somber all-black ensembles included Daisy Ridley, Jessie Buckley, Naomi Campbell and Adwoa Aboah.
Actor Benedict Cumberbatch also seemingly paid his respects to the people of Ukraine, donning a pin made up of the colours of the Ukrainian flag.
