Capcom first announced Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection late last year, hoping to focus more on the RPG aspect the spin-off series has to offer – and now, fans have gotten to try it out for themselves via a free-to-play trial.
There's just one catch, though: the trial is a short demo that caps your party at level 10.
It doesn't sound like much, especially when you consider that there are plenty of high-level beasts and bosses to be found throughout the free trial. But as dedicated fans always do, the community has discovered a way to take some of them on and climb the ranks as high as they can, even if it means facing monsters that can apparently reach upwards of level 75 in the full game.
One example of a hardened Monster Hunter fan absolutely killing the demo is Alilatias, as they're known on YouTube. In a recent clip, they manage to take down Feral Brachydios, outlining just how they managed to do it in the video's description.
In short, it takes a bit of grinding and planning ahead, with lots of staggering and a very careful rotation to boot. The wildest part? Alilatias isn't alone here.
Before they took down Feral Brachydios, another fan did the same: a Reddit user who goes by OfficialC768, as you can see in their post from a few days ago.
They first describe their methods – the very same ones that inspired Alilatias – before admitting, "I wasn't even planning on this being the run." Attached is proof that the run did indeed end up being "the run," with the massive monster lying dead in the background.

There's Redditor Usual-Difficulty1474, too, who has also taken the menacing beast down, as per their own thread online.
So, that's three known players who have achieved the seemingly impossible in the Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection trial, tackling the most fearsome foes while unable to surpass level 10 themselves. Could I do it? No, probably not – but witnessing others do so instead will never cease to be mind-blowing.
I'm certain we'll see even more creative, out-of-the-box solutions to fights after the game's full launch next month on March 13 – but until then, I'd suggest keeping an eye on the web, particularly Monster Hunter forums and the like.
