Edinburgh locals have slammed an American actor's attempt at the capital accent with most claiming it is too 'posh' and reflects the students that live in the city rather than the locals.
In a popular TikTok video, actor Tyler Collins breezed through regional Scottish accents - including Glasgow, Dundee, Fife, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and the Borders - while pointing out the key differences between them.
Viewers applauded his ability to pull off a Scottish accent full stop, nonetheless a different range of regional accents until the social media influencer attempted Edinburgh.

During his attempt at a capital twang he said: "While Edinburgh has that slight vocal fry and they don't roll their r's, although they sometimes do if they feel like it.
"If they are feeling particularly Scottish."
He claims his East Coast accents are better than his West Coast but many Edinburgh locals would argue that we do not sound like that at all.
The accent portrayed is an English accent similar to one a stereotypical Edinburgh University student from down south would have, which many pointed out in the comments.
The TikTok clip has attracted over 615,000 views so far with thousands of comments, many slating the attempt at an Edinburgh accent.
Jupiter exclaimed: "He is really good, although his Edinburgh is quite a refined New Town/Uni accent. It’s not ‘wrong’ but it’s not local either and most of us are local."
Charlotte Hastie860 slammed: "This is bang on, all of these but Edinburgh…maybe too much of Edinburgh uni folk.."
BeckyXbats said: "That Edinburgh accent is specific to Edinburgh uni and 100% influenced by English people, I demand another attempt."
kingbong4202 asked: "Why’s Edinburgh just a Glasgow uni accent?"
RedRamrock said: "Braw! As an Edinburger though that’s strictly Mummy and Daddy university accent! Better range than most of us Scots."

While many said he should try a "council" Edinburgh accent in comparison to his which is very posh and English sounding.
Scots Gal said: "Posh Edinburgh spot on but let’s hear and Edinburgh cooncil estate."
Daftieboi added: "I'm from a scheme in Edinburgh completely different accent."
He may not have got the Edinburgh accent spot on but at least he can pronounce the name of the city properly, one joked: "How are you doing this? Absolutely amazing distinction. Just the fact that you can pronounce Edinburgh correctly is a massive achievement."
