The row over Wandsworth Council’s planned near-doubling of council tax is escalating after Kemi Badenoch revealed the Conservative Party “instructed lawyers” to challenge government cuts to the Tory-run London borough.

The cuts are forcing Wandsworth to increase its council tax by 94%, according to the party’s leader.
