Bad weather fails to dampen Kirkcudbright fundraiser

Scouting and Guiding in Kirkcudbright has received a welcome funding boost from their sale and tombola last Saturday.

And despite the awful weather there was great support from those who attended the event in the newly refurbished Scout Hall.

A total of £350 was raised and the money will be shared between the hall and the Scouting and Guiding groups which use the premises.

Thanks to the refurbishment, the hall has a brand new kitchen which now needs to be kitted out with essential items.

Issuing an appeal for help, Kirkcudbright Guides leader Katherine Naylor said: “Does anyone have a fridge or a tea urn, in good condition, which they no longer need, which they could donate?

“Now the hall is being hired out more, we need to offer better facilities and these things in the kitchen would be a fantastic addition.

“Like most groups our
fundraising has been affected by the pandemic.

“And, of course, passing on second hand goods is good for the environment too.”

Anyone interested in donating, hiring the hall, or becoming involved in being a Scout, Ranger, Guide, Brownie or Rainbow can visit the Kirkcudbright Scout Hall Facebook Page or contact kathmnaylor@yahoo.co.uk.
