Bad time for a Spain holiday as temperatures nosedive and weather warnings issued for popular spots

Irish passengers headed to Spain over the coming days will be met by an influx of rain and stormy conditions as local reports mark a temporary end to scorching weather.

Temperatures are set to nosedive as the week goes on and three regions, in particular, have multiple alerts in place.

Heavy rain and strong winds are due to hit the regions of Andalucia, Aragon, Catalonia, Murcia, and Valencia from today amid yellow weather warnings.

Temperatures are to continue dropping as scattered showers batter the country alongside high winds.

There is very little change expected to conditions on Wednesday according to Spanish News Today, with full-blown storms expected in the south of Extremadura and the west of Andalucia.

The Canary Islands are also due to be very cloudy with outbreaks of rain this week while a yellow weather warning remains active in Andalucia, Murcia, and Valencia.

Things look set to settle down a bit from Thursday, as the weather advisories come to an end.

Scattered showers will continue in the east of the country, particularly in Alicante, Murcia, and Andalucia.

Meanwhile, isolated showers will appear overnight into Friday which forecasters say will bring “suspended dust in the Balearic Islands and along the southeast coast of Spain."
