Sleaford Mods’ Jason Williamson is an apocalyptic mood. Not personally-speaking, he’s been in therapy to combat his anger issues and says he’s in a good place, but in his work. The concept behind the band’s forthcoming, and scorchingly excellent, new album The Demise of Planet X, is that the world is coming to an end right under our noses.
“It’s already happened, hasn’t it?” he says, wincing,“Planet X is a conspiracy theory about a planet that either collides with Earth or will just glide by but will cause repercussions in space that will cause massive changes climate-wise on Earth. And it's almost like that's already happened. It's like this is the post-apocalypse. We've already been laid to waste.”
