Bad Bunny's sweet Super Bowl gift to Zara employees revealed after he wears brand onstage

Bad Bunny eschewed the typical designer luxury that Super Bowl headliners tend to go for, opting instead to wear the humble Spanish brand Zara onstage.

The Monaco rapper pulled out all the sartorial stops for his halftime show on Sunday night, donning a cream football journey with his surname Ocasio on the back and 64 on the front in a nod to his mother’s birth year.

The 31-year-old - real name Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio - paired them with matching trousers and Bad Bunny x Adidas Badbo 1.0 "Resilience" trainers from his upcoming Adidas collaboration.

High street fashion house Zara shared their love for his ensemble after the show, writing: “It was an amazing show.

“Benito put on a memorable performance. What a great outfit.”

Bad Bunny also gifted Zara employees a copy of his jersey, alongside a thoughtful note that read: “Thank you for the time, the talent, and the heart you put into this.”

He went on: “Thank you for making it real. This show was yours too. I hope you enjoy it. See you soon! Benito.”

It was the first time Zara has ever dressed a performer on such a large scale. They also dressed his backup dancers, band, and orchestra.

It was later revealed that his jersey has another special significance as it pays homage to his late uncle.

Bad Bunny’s uncle previously wore the 64 jersey while playing football.

He also paid tribute to his late relative by carrying a football that read: “Together, we are America.”

Bad Bunny invited a wealth of celebrities to the stage on Sunday night, including Lady Gaga, Cardi B, Pedro Pascal and Ricky Martin.

The halftime show was dripping with cultural references that celebrated the best of Latin American culture.

During the show, a real couple tied the knot on stage, performers played traditional instruments, and dancers weaved through sugar cane fields symbolic of Bad Bunny’s Puerto Rican heritage.

Waving flags of nations across North and South America, Bad Bunny sang in Spanish, danced among joyous crowds, and at one point carried a football emblematic of a region united through its diversity: "Together We Are America" was inscribed on the ball.

The Puerto Rican artist triggered 79-year-old US president Donald Trump, who said the “dancing is disgusting.”

“The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence,” he ranted.

“Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the USA, and all over the World.”
