Latin music sensation Bad Bunny achieved a remarkable milestone by breaking the Spotify record for the most-streamed album in a single day on Oct. 13, 2023.

His latest work, “Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Mañana” (Nobody Knows What Is Going to Happen Tomorrow), which comprises 22 tracks, secured this record. This achievement was celebrated by Spotify Technology SA (NYSE: SPOT) via its social media channels, adding yet another jewel to the crown of the Puerto Rican artist.

This success comes on the heels of his 2022 release, “Un Verano Sin Ti,” which became the biggest album in the world in 2022.

Last year, Bad Bunny — born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio — generated over 18.5 billion streams on Spotify, making him the most-streamed artist for three consecutive years on the audio streaming platform. He was also named Apple Music’s Artist of the Year in 2022, recognizing his significant artistic contributions and global cultural influence.

Leading up to the album’s release, Spotify employed a strategic marketing approach, using cryptic billboards in cities worldwide to tease the album’s title, “Nadie Sabe,” intensifying anticipation among Bad Bunny’s dedicated fan base.

The album features tracks like “Monaco,” “Mr. October,” “Cybertruck,” “Teléfono Nuevo,” “Acho PR,” “Thunder y Lightning,” and begins with “Nadie Sabe,” concluding with “Un Preview.”

Latin music has been experiencing substantial growth, with the Recording Industry Association of America reporting $627 million in gross revenues for the genre in the first half of 2023 in the US.

On-demand audio streaming of Latin music in the US surged by 22.2% year-on-year in the first 34 weeks of 2023, totaling 57.9 billion streams. Latin music’s share of overall U.S. recorded music revenues also reached a new high of 7.5% in the first half of 2023.
