Backroom staff who could be about to join Sean Dyche at Everton

Sean Dyche is set to be appointed at the new Everton manager after the sacking of Frank Lampard on Monday afternoon.

Everton have slipped to 19th in the Premier League with one win in 14 matches under Lampard and the board have seemingly gone the way of Dyche after talks with Marcelo Bielsa.

Dyche was sacked as Burnley boss in April 2022 despite transforming the fortunes of the club - and three of his right-hand men also left the club. It remains to be seen whether all will arrive at Goodison Park along with the manager.

After establishing Burnley as a Premier League club, it finally looked as though their time had run out and a spell in the Championship was fast approaching. Dyche worked wonders at Turf Moor, but was sacked by new owner Alan Pace.

Consequently, Burnley did get relegated last season, but it looks as though they are easing their way to the Championship title.

The first man following Dyche through the door at Finch Farm could be his assistant Ian Woan. The Cheshire-born 55-year-old has been spotted on the touchline many times next to Dyche and is a trusted colleague of the ex-Burnley man.

Woan played football at the top level himself, with a youth career at both Manchester City and Manchester United, before a professional career that saw him play more than 200 times for Nottingham Forest.

Steve Stone was a first-team coach in Dyche's backroom staff at Turf Moor. He was appointed Under-23s boss in November 2018 before being promoted to the first-team set up in July 2021.

Stone played nine times for England during his playing career and made more than 200 appearances for Forest.

Goalkeeping coach Billy Mercer had been at the club for 12 years before he was relieved of his duties alongside Dyche. Mercer helped develop two England keepers in Tom Heaton and Nick Pope during his time at Burnley.
