Bachman-Turner Overdrive guitarist Tim Bachman has died at the age of 71 following complications with cancer.
The guitarist and vocalist of the Canadian rock band's son confirmed the news on Facebook.
"My Dad passed this afternoon. Thank You Everyone for the kind words," he said.
"Grateful I got to spend some time with him at the end. Grab yer loved ones and hug em close, ya never know how long you have."
He later returned to share several snaps of his dad.
"Howdy. Thinking about my Dad this morning. The last words he said were, ‘I love you Paxton, Share the Music," he posted.
He also posted: "I sat with Dad yesterday afternoon and reminisced about some of the good times we had.
"He was pretty out of it most of the time, but at one point looked up at me with really, big wide eyes and said, "I love you Paxton, keep sharing the music…" and then passed back out.
"It's really hard watching your parent lay in bed helpless and sick and there's nothing you can do to help them. Breaking my heart. Thankful for the time we got to spend together."
Tim's death comes three months after the death of his brother Robbie.
Robbie passed away at the age of 69 in January.
His older brother Randy Bachman, who played the guitar and fronted the 70s rock group, shared the devastating news on his Twitter account on January 12.
"Another sad departure,” he wrote.
"The pounding beat behind BTO, my little brother Robbie has joined Mum, Dad & brother Gary on the other side.
"Maybe Jeff Beck needs a drummer! He was an integral cog in our rock 'n' roll machine and we rocked the world together.”
The band, often abbreviated as BTO, was formed in 1973 by Robbie, Randy and Fred Turner.
Tim was part of the group between 1973 and 1974.
In the 70s, they achieved five top-40 albums and six US top-40 singles.
They also have five certified gold albums and one certified platinum album in the US.
BTO sold nearly 30 million albums worldwide and their hits include Let It Ride, You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet and Takin' Care Of Business.
The group reunited in 1983, with Randy, Tim, Fred, former Guess Who drummer Garry Peterson and their drum tech Billy Chapman.
Robbie declined to reunite with them after having business and trademark disagreements with Randy and the other band members.
