Four selected French movies will be presented during "French Cinema Season@BACC" at the Auditorium, 5th floor of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Pathumwan intersection, this weekend at 2pm and 5pm.

Organised by the Embassy of France, the French-language film festival brings two comedies, one drama and one documentary that reflect various issues in urban societies, such as mental health issues, relationships, technology, connectivity, the environment as well as social and political activism.

The festival will open with a screening of Arab Blues (Un Aivan À Tunis) directed by Manele Labidi Labbé on Saturday at 2pm. The 2019 comedy/drama is about a psychoanalyst who has to deal with a cast of colourful new patients after she returns home to Tunisia to open a practice.

It will be followed by Deux Moi, at 5pm. Directed by Cédric Klapisch, the 2019 comedy/drama/romance revolves around two 30-something individuals who are victims of the solitude of big cities, in the hyper-connected era where it was thought that meeting each other should be easier.

Scheduled for Sunday at 2pm is System K, a 2018 documentary about the emergence of an eclectic and bubbling street art scene amid social and political chaos in the urban jungle of Kinshasa, the capital of Congo. It is directed by Renaud Barret.

The festival will conclude with Si Le Vent Tombe by Nora Martirosyan, at 5pm. Directed by Nora Martirosyan, the drama is about an engineer who must decide whether to reopen the airport of a small self-proclaimed republic in the Caucasus.

All movies have English subtitles, plus Thai subtitles for the two films on Saturday. There is no admission fee but reservations are required.
