Most of us love the hot weather, but when it comes to children and pets it becomes mostly about keeping them cool.
Dogs in particular can struggle in the heat - and often have to miss their usual walks because it gets too hot.
That's why I decided to splash out on B&M's Pet Cooling Sprinkler Mat for our Labrador.

I say 'splash out', but at £10 it's actually a really reasonable price for the impact it's had.
My dog absolutely loves it and as well as keeping him cool, it's given him some play time to tire him out when he can't go for a walk.
I was a little worried he might easily pop the outer ring but it's stayed fully intact despite him jumping and splashing all over the thing.
It's not massive, well not for a five stone Labrador anyway, but it's still plenty big enough and would fit two smaller dogs on it. My 12-year-old jumped on it with the dog at one point so it'd be great for little ones to have a splash on.
The best thing is how quick and easy it is to use. You just connect the end of your hose to the attachment on the mat and that's it - the water is pumped into the edge of the mat and sprays into the air. There's no time spent filling up a pool with gallons of water.
It's also quite contained so the water stays in that one area without firing over everyone else.
Obviously you'll get wet when the dog decides to shake all over you but there's not much to be done about that. At least it won't take you long to dry off.
