Australia defender Aziz Behich is on the brink of joining Dundee United as Jack Ross looks to add the experienced left-back to his ranks.
Behich, 31, is a free agent after leaving Giresunspor and has 48 caps for the Socceroos to his name. He made 148 appearances for the Turkish side, chipping in with six goals and eight assists, but left this summer in pursuit of a new club.
United boss Ross has been keen to add a new left-back having already signed Behich's international teammate Mark Birighitti in this window from Central Coast Mariners. And Behich will arrive to compete with Scott McMann and youngster Flynn Duffy in a major boost to Ross' ranks. Behich has most recently had spells in Turkey with Istanbul Basaksehir, Bursasor and Kayserispor.
He has also been at PSV Eindhoven and played for Melbourne Heart, Melbourne Victory, Hume City and Green Gully in Australia. Behich won the Super Big with Basaksehir back in 2020 and won the Asian Cup with Austria in 2015 and was also part of their 2018 World Cup squad.
Ross has already signed Steven Fletcher and Craig Sibbald and brought back Dylan Levitt back from Manchester United as well as sealing Ian Harkes' return in what has been a busy window so far. A deal for Behich us subject to a work permit.
