  • The race weekend schedule has been moved forward by one day, with the main race taking place on Saturday 26 September to avoid a clash with Azerbaijan's Remembrance Day on 27 September.
  • Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli holds an 81-point lead in the World Drivers' Championship over teammate George Russell following his victory at the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid.
  • Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton trails championship leader Antonelli by 101 points with nine races remaining after being forced to retire from the last race due to a brake problem.
