An Ayrshire swimming pool has reopened today after a poo incident forced leisure bosses into shutting it down for a deep clean.
The main swimming pool at the Citadel in Ayr was sealed off on Sunday after it was reported that someone had an unfortunate accident.
The unexcepted closure led to the main pool being unavailable until this morning.
Some swimming lessons were impacted as the pool was closed to the public as teams treated the contaminated water.
However Teaching/ flexi pool activities were not affected.
A spokesperson for South Ayrshire Council said: “The main swimming pool at the Citadel in Ayr was closed unexpectedly on Sunday 6 of March to allow the pool to be cleaned following an incident.
"The main pool reopened as normal on Tuesday. Teaching / flexi pool activities were not affected. We are sorry for any inconvenience.”
