Ayrshire police recover £2m worth of cannabis from industrial estate

Over £2million of cannabis has been seized from an Ayrshire industrial estate

Police have arrested and charged four men following the recovery of drugs and the Ayrshire Proactive Crime Team carried out a search warrant yesterday (Tuesday).

The hunt took place in a premises at Ardeer Industrial Estate, Stevenston. As a result, a large-scale cannabis cultivation was discovered.

The men – aged 30, 32, 34 and 36 – have been arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences. They were expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court today.

Detective Sergeant Terry McEwan said: “Drug misuse brings nothing but misery to our communities and I want to reassure the people of Ayrshire that we will continue to use every tool and tactic at our disposal to remove these illegal substances from the community.

“Our work often relies on the support of the public, so if you have any information or concerns about drug misuse, do not hesitate to contact Police Scotland on 101 or report this anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
