An Ayrshire ice rink has been closed due to unsafe conditions after mindless vandals damaged essential equipment.
The Galleon has announced that yobs damaged a glycol pipe — a device that helps to refrigerate the ice and keep it cool.
Bosses say that this has led to unsafe conditions on the ice and the Kilmarnock rink will be closed until further notice.
However, it's hoped that work can be carried out swiftly with the aim of reopening on Thursday.
The Galleon posted on Facebook: "During a mindless act of vandalism on Saturday afternoon a glycol pipe was damaged on the Ice Rink floor leading to unsafe conditions on the ice. Due to this we have had to close our Ice Rink until further notice.
"Our ice rink staff are working as quickly as they can to rectify this situation and we aim to have the rink open by Thursday, September 1.
"We would like to apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause and we will post further updates as works progress."
