Ayrshire Hospice breaks ground on new £17m care facility in Ayr's Racecourse Road

The first shovels have gone in the ground as The Ayrshire Hospice begins building work on its new £17 million base in the heart of Ayr.

Ground was broken yesterday (Wednesday) at Racecourse Road with the transformation of the site scheduled to take just over a year.

Hospice Chief Executive, Tracy Flynn, led the breaking-ground ceremony and was flanked by bosses from Ayrshire's three local authorities on the milestone day.
