A huge drugs haul worth almost a million pounds was seized from a former primary school outside an Ayrshire village.
Last week we told how cops raided an address in Patna which led to the discovery of a £800,000 cannabis farm.
The major operation was shut down by Ayrshire Police’s pro-active crime team after they executed a warrant on the former St. Xavier's Primary School in the East Ayrshire village, last Monday.
Locals have told Ayrshire Live how the building has become a ‘fortress’.
Pictures show how the building is completely surrounded with CCTV cameras and sits behind a concrete wall and a huge gate.
The building was previously the scene of horrific animal abuse as dogs were left to starve to death under the guise of a dog rescue centre Ayrshire Ark.
Evil rescue boss Zara Brown was caged in 2017 after six dogs and one cat were found dead at the centre.
Police say their enquiries into the cannabis haul are still ongoing.
Detective Inspector Grant Currie, of Ayrshire pro-active CID, said: “Our enquiries into the cultivation are ongoing and I would urge anyone with any information that could assist to contact us as soon as possible.
“Police Scotland is committed to disrupting the illicit supply of drugs in our communities and we will use every tool and tactic at our disposal to remove these illegal substances from our streets.
“If you have any information or concerns about drug misuse or wider criminality in your area, do not hesitate to contact us on 101 or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
