Ayrshire bus firm Stagecoach cancels more services due to staff shortages

More bus journeys in and out of the Ayrshire region have been cancelled today by Stagecoach West Scotland.

The firm has blamed the disruption on staff shortages, which prompted the cancellation of more than 100 journeys on Monday.

Now passengers can expect another round of reduced services today- with numerous journeys falling by the wayside.

The reduced services includes: the number 1 from Carrick Street to Hayhill, number 2 from Carrick Street, the number 6 from Boswell Park and the 42 service — which affects those travelling from Ayr, Muirkirk and Drongan.

Other services to be scaled down today are the number 43, which takes passengers from Ayr, Tarbolton and Mauchline, and the 58/60- which takes in journeys between Ayr and Girvan.

The X77, Glasgow/Kilmarnock/Ayr service, which experienced eight journey cancellations on Monday, has another eight cancellations today, most notably to the 10pm one from Ayr.

Services for the North and East Ayrshire regions are also affected with the following services scaled down- service 1 (Kilmarnock/Priestland), number 4 (Kilmarnock/Ayr/Glasgow), number 11 (Kilmarnock/Ardrossan), service 50 (Cumnock/Kilmarnock) and number 76 (Kilmarnock/Cumnock).

Passengers can get the latest information on services by accessing the Stagecoach West Scotland website, app, and Twitter account.
