Thousands of people are set to descend upon Ayr Racecourse next month for the welcoming return of the Ayr County Show.
The 177th spectacle returns on Saturday, May 14 and will welcome crowds to enjoy the jam-packed day full of animal showing, stalls, funfair rides, motorbike stunts, food and drink, workshops and much more.
The event – which will be the first show in three years due to the pandemic – will include exhibition and competition of many types of animals, family entertainment, trucks and tractor show, young farmers' competitions, music and crafts, as well as a vintage tractor display.
Hundreds of animals of a wide variety of breeds will be judged throughout the morning, starting with the light horse and pony classes at 8am, British showjumping classes at 9am and Clydesdale Horse classes at 10am.
The cattle and sheep classes start at 9.30am and sticks & crooks at 10am.
The goats section, which is held at Craig Wilson Livestock Auction Mart instead of the racecourse, will be running a back-to-back show with the Ayrshire Goat Club on Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15.

Over 100 trade stands will offer customers the chance to snap up a bargain in agricultural dealerships, machinery, services and specialists, bespoke goods, clothing and gifts, equine and livestock products.
The ‘children’s marquee’ will keep the wee ones occupied with entertainment from a bouncy slide, funfair rides, Hannahston Alpacas, Chester The Shetland Pony, face painting, balloon modelling, a bubble show, workshops, and more.
And in the main ring, thrillseekers can be wowed by On the Edge Motorcycle Stunt Show, as daredevil professionals take on 15ft jumps on vertical walls, drops-offs and interactive stunts to demonstrate their high level of skill, balance and technical control.
Food and drink stands will also showcase the important ‘field to fork’ link and will keep revellers fed and watered with tasty dishes and refreshments.
The show opens at 9am and closes at 5pm. Admission for adults is £15, and free for children under the age of 14 and accompanied by an adult.
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome. Car parking £4 per car. For the full judging timetable, or for trade, food, craft and retail enquiries, visit https://ayrcountyshow.co.uk/
