LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said that proposed airport in Ayodhya must be made operational by the time idol of Ram Lalla is placed in the `Garbh Griha’ (Sanctum Sanctorum) of the upcoming Ram Temple in the city and it's opened for devotees — expectedly in 2023.
“Bhagwan Ram Ayodhya Pushpak Viman mein Ayodhya laute they…humein ye prayas karna chahiye ki jab wo apne mandir mein virajman hon to ye airport bhi aarambh ho jaye (Lord Ram had returned to Ayodhya (after completing his 14 years of exile) in Pushpak Viman…we should try that when his idol is placed in the temple then the airport should also get operational),” he said, even as the state civil aviation department signed a land lease agreement with the AAI for the development of `Maryada Purushottam Sri Ram’ International airport.
