The Spain international has been a stalwart in the City side since making the switch from Athletic Bilbao in 2018, making 179 appearances in all competitions. However, the 2022/23 season has been far from kind to the 29-year-old, who managed just 24 appearances.
With just two years left on his deal, links are ramping up over a potential exit from the Etihad Stadium, with Tottenham heavily rumoured with a move. They may find competition from their rivals Arsenal though, who are also claimed to be monitoring the situation.
