Teased in September, we now know just a little bit more information about Ayaneo’s upcoming Flip KB handheld gaming PC.
From the Flip KB’s Indiegogo website: Ayaneo confirmed the keyboard-equipped clamshell handheld has a 7-inch IPS display with 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The handheld’s dual-screen sibling, the Ayaneo Flip DS, also has the same size screen. Both handhelds run Windows.
The Ayaneo Flip KB isn’t the handheld maker’s first design to feature a keyboard — that accolade goes to its recently announced Ayaneo Slide, which launched on Indiegogo last year. The Ayaneo Flip KB will appeal to those who want the clamshell design, while the Slide targets those who prefer a Sidekick-esque gaming handheld.
Ayaneo says the design has an “innovative replaceable grip panel design” and features a “46.2Wh high-density battery.” The handheld is also designed for improved heat dissipation.
Ayaneo Flip KB CPU and Keyboard
Ayaneo could differentiate itself from the competition by offering an OLED display, considering its other handhelds already take advantage of that.
According to the Indiegogo product page, the Flip KB has an AMD Ryzen 7 7840 CPU. “The CPU performance has been significantly improved in both single and multi-core, resulting in faster operation and astonishing gaming experience.” Ayaneo’s CEO, Arthur Zhang, said in its official Discord that the keyboard would be similar to the traditional BlackBerry keyboard. The Indiegogo page also states the keyboard has RGB. GAMING!
Ayaneo Flip KB Release Date
The Ayaneo Flip KB was originally planned for release by the end of 2023, but after several teasers, it’s now officially coming out on January 30. Orders will start at 7 a.m. ET. However, we still don’t have pricing yet. Ayaneo says “shipments will be made according to the IGG pre-order sequence.”
