Ayan Mukerji has dedicated 9 years of his life to making his Magnum Opus, the fantasy film with superhero motifs - Brahmastra. It’s a movie that will introduce the concept of Astraverse, where Ranbir Kapoor will essay the role of a man empowered by the Brahmastra. Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna play other key roles with Amitabh Bachchan playing an important role, too. During a recent interaction with the media, where Ayan showcased the first glimpses of the Brahmastra trailer, he revealed how Mr Bachchan’s presence on the sets had kept the entire cast and crew on their toes.
This is the first time that Ayan directed Amitabh Bachchan in a feature film and sharing his experience of working with him, Ayan said, “People ask me how I’ve dedicated 9 years to making Brahmastra and I tell them look at Bachchan sir, he has literally dedicated his entire life to the craft of acting and filmmaking. When he’s not on set acting, he’s writing about cinema, he’s creating music, he’s reading, he’s planning the next big project and he’s been doing all of this for more than 5 decades. His commitment to the craft is simply inspiring.”
