Viewers were impressed with Nottingham-based Lara as she shared her emotional story on the new series of Married at First UK. Although they were quick to spot that her son, Jayden, was not sure about the wedding. The E4 show returned to screens on Monday, August 29, for its seventh season.
Another two couples out of the seven potential new pairings in the third of the series were married. Nottingham-based waitress Lara, 49, married sales advisor Richie, 51 from Sheffield. Richie also revealed that he is a musician in former 90s band, Dare, who have played Rock City in the past.
The Canadian ex-dancer has been married and divorced twice although she hopes that this will third time lucky. She once led a luxury lifestyle although signing a pre-nuptial agreement left her with nothing when the marriage fell apart.

She had been hoping that the person that she marries will be someone that her two sons can look up to. However, Lara's son didn't seem very happy with the pairing. He nervously asked Richie if he would be his new father, to which the musician replied, 'potentially' in a very awkward to-watch scene.
Fans were quick to spot that this may cause a problem in the future. They especially noted that Lara's son seemed 'unsure' and didn't clap for the couple when they were married. One son spoke about not seeing 'a positive outlook' after seeing both his parent's marriages end although the two men appeared to bond over a love of music.
One wrote: "Lara’s son is something else. He didn’t even clap for them." Another agreed: "Not sure this is going to last if her sons don't even like him."
However, fans were united on wanting things to work out for Lara as they felt she seemed 'vunerable' after she shared her story. One person wrote: "So so proud of lara, Jess and Pjay for being vulnerable and sharing their stories so far. Really admirable." "I’m obsessed with Lara. She seems so vulnerable and in need of a good relationship to heal old wounds. Please let it be a successful pairing," a viewer wrote.
